Based in London, as a Backend Tester, you will work in our Mobility Hub which encompasses Creative, Product, Commercial, Development & QA functions. In 12 months, we have moved from a standing start to having an award winning app, the TUI Digital Assistant (TDA), rolled out to 5 source markets and being used by more than 150,000 customers every month. This is just the beginning - we are about to embark on a multi-year plan to see the evolution of our TDA from where it is today to being a feature-rich app the likes of which our industry has never seen, and that customers will never have experienced – this is where we need your help. In order to support the on-going evolution of the TDA we need highly motivated and skilled backend testers to join the QA team What you will be doing As a Backend Tester you will be responsible for testing releases of functionality to support the roll out of features within the TUI Digital Assistant mobile application along with a platform transition to the AWS platform. This will include functional, integration and performance testing of APIs; testing deployment scripts for infrastructure, API and application levels and taking a key role within the delivery lifecycle. You will be working in an Agile Scrum manner, testing user stories and tasks, forming a key part of the Agile Scrum team. You will play key role to ensure that all backend systems are working as expected. What we are looking for The role requires a candidate with the following essential skills and experience: Proven successful experience of testing API (Restful and Soap) 3+ years of experience in mobile testing Experienced in Automation Testing Fluent with using Postman and JMeter Experienced with NodeJS Experienced with Tibco Familiar with programming language (JavaScript) Agile & Scrum practice Experience with functional, integration and performance testing Exceptional organizational skills High attention to details Able to work in fast paced environment Team player, analytical thinking Any experience in the following will be of benefit: Automating Test Pipeline in Jenkins Cloud Formation Deployment Scripts Amazon S3 Buckets CloudWatch / CloudTrail Metrics and Logging API Gateway staging, mocking and configuration Lambda aliasing and versioning VPC setup and configuration AWS account management AWS CLI Deployment and Application Testing in an AWS Serverless environment Understanding of BDD /TDD The candidate will need to be degree educated in a relevant computing or systems faculty.
