Supervisor Salary: Competitive General: The Supervisor role is a key role in the business providing front line supervision of site teams. The Supervisor controls and operates our Disab vacuum equipment whilst also running a support team of Labourers. The role is a balance between physically carrying out industrial cleaning and managing the Cleaning team – a working foreman. Ensuring safe systems of work are implemented and adapted to meet The job requirements, safety management is critical to the success of the role. The Lead Operator is the First line manager dealing with team performance, absence and minor disciplinary issues, they are also the Site contact and expected to act as customer liaison and be the first, professional point of call for any client Issues. Some tasks may not require any vacuum work at all and in this case the Supervisor will run a team of: Men carrying out manual cleaning tasks. Most of our work is in heavy industry and involves confined space and difficult access. The Lead Operator is the link between the management team and the working crews, reporting to the Operations Coordinator. A number of our Lead Operators are HGV trained and drive the units on the road between customer sites. Main Duties : Supervision of cleaning team of 5 men. Physically carrying out vacuum and manual cleaning tasks, which represents at least 50% of your working day. First line management of teams – dealing with lateness, absence, performance, escalating issues for disciplinary. Driving, setting up and operating Disab Vacuum Plant in an optimum manner Implementing RAMS and Safe Systems of Work on site. Reporting and logging site works, timesheets, job sheets, getting customer sign off. This is to include checking all paperwork submitted by the team. Basic fault finding and reporting of defects on plant, daily check sheet and lubrication. Reporting job changes and carrying out modifications to RAMS in conjunction with the Management team and amendment procedure. Management and care of site equipment – checking, storing, cleaning, safe use of site tools e.g. lights and extension leads, vacuum pipes, hand tools, pneumatic tools, etc. Site Management of hire plant – acceptance inspection, care of and safe use, daily checks, fault reporting, refuelling, hand back inspection, photographs, off hire request to office. Site walking tours, photographs, reporting of plant issues to customer. Site audits and reporting of compliance on internal and customer systems. Site Management of PPE- issue of PPE and logging on register, monitoring of usage, ensuring compliance, liaison with office to control stock levels, feed back on PPE quality and suitability, reviewing PPE requirements against job conditions. Site Management of Special Safety Equipment – sign for, care of, safe use of, cleaning and secure site storage, hand back and defects reporting. General H&S Responsibilities: Comply with Health & Safety requirements: as per training, policies, procedures, risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work etc. Actively seek to improve safety culture. Report any H&S issues/accidents/near misses to your line manager immediately. Other General Responsibilities: Attend training as required to maintain personal qualification/competence.
