Two women hacked to death over land wrangle

Two women have been hacked to death by a relative following a land dispute.
The unfortunate incident happened Wednesday night, in Dodoi village, Kasupete Parish in Kanginima Sub County, Pallisa district.
The deceased were identified as Jane Nambaluka, 62 years a mother of 13 and her biological mother Edith Namuge, 82 years.
Nambaluka has been the heir to her late father Amulamu Nyali estates.
The culprit has been identified as 18 year old Lenyi Amulamu, a grandson to the late Namuge.
It’s alleged that Amulamu had demanded that the deceased handover their land to him but they refused.
On the fateful day, Nambaluka and her mother Namuge had gone to cultivate on the disputed land when they were attacked and hacked to death by Amulamu and his accomplices.
One of the relatives, Sam Kirya told our reporter that, in August, the Amulamu had attempted to murder his auntie  Nambaluka and the grade one Chief Magistrate Court Pallisa  Imuran Kintu , who presided over the case, put Lenyi Amulamu to community service for the offence.
Pallisa District Police Cmmander Matthias Turyasingura, condemned the act and blamed the clan leader Willy Achila Misaki for disrespecting women’s rights to own property and for inciting the murderer.
Turyasingura noted that the suspects are still at large and investigations are ongoing.
