About the Company Quest Search & Selection is looking for an experienced Master Roaster to be part of a launching premium coffee house and retail business in Saudi Arabia. You will be mainly responsible for all facets of coffee production and roasting processes, including R&D of brand specific roast profiles and recipes, catering to various pallets and brewing methods, with a focus on the Saudi Arabian Market. This role is for an innovative, dedicated individual with a real passion for coffee and an expert knowledge of independent coffee houses. You will have full control over the beverage menu development. Job Description As a Master Roaster for the premium coffee brand, your responsibilities will include: Procure, source and evaluate green coffee purchasing. Manage all aspects of coffee roasting and production processes Research, experiment and develop the brands' whole bean roasted coffee merchandize Manage store day-to-day operations, supervise staff members on the floor Develop production processes, best practices, recipes, manuals and systems. Work alongside management in setting out yearly targets and brand strategy initiatives Focused approach at learning the pallet of the Saudi Arabian market Assist in hiring new staff members and participate in the evaluation of future headcount needs for new store openings Developed and assist in launching new product categories and in store merchandize Manage and coordinate existing and future supplier agreements; and develop supply chain capabilities and foster relationships. Attend, participate, and develop the company's consumer brand by attending and participating in events, tradeshows and other public and industry specific gatherings to promote the company's products and cultivate relationships. Requirements for an Ideal Candidate (Master Roaster) Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position with good barista and extraction knowledge Outgoing personality, approachable and easy dealing with people in social settings Expert knowledge in coffee production value chain, from harvesting up until cupping Experience working as a roaster with an independent coffee house or as a tasting trainer. Basic maintenance and troubleshooting on roasting machines and equipment. Outstanding communication skills; Good knowledge about espresso and drip coffee; effect of roast profiles on various methods. Unprecedented knowledge of coffee, the market and product development Be known as a coffee aficionado.
