A successful Practice within St. James’s Place Wealth Management is recruiting for a Part or Fully Diploma Level Paraplanner or Junior Paraplanner to join their team, based in their Kingsway office, Holborn, London. Role Overview Working in a small team environment including a small team of three Wealth Managers / Financial Advisors, predominately supporting one of them. The Paraplanner shall provide full technical support to the team in terms of technical meeting preparation, and Suitability Letter writing for all transfer, replacement and new business cases, drawdowns, drawdown reviews, protection and EIS / VCT letters. They will also have responsibility for client record management. This role would be particularly suited to someone seeking a long-term career either as a Paraplanner or as a future Financial Advisor, and shall be Part or Fully Diploma level 4 qualified (Diploma in Financial Planning) Role Content The Paraplanner role will compile of a mix of Technical and Administrative duties including (but not exclusively) the following: Technical Full review of client file and detailed technical meeting preparation Detailed attention to existing client files and needs Face to face and telephone debriefs with Wealth Manager post client meeting, note taking and technical discussions/advice structuring. Contact with clients, post meeting with follow up notes issued, where appropriate. Dealing with all technical actions arising from client meetings, ready for further presentation to Wealth Manager to take to the next stage. Dealing with all incoming client technical queries by both telephone and email. Preparation of all Suitability letters, including transfer/replacement, new business, drawdown, drawdown reviews, protection and EIS/VCT letters. Preparing critical yield calculations and general sense checking of cases. Providing a personalised and professional service internally and externally at all times. Administration Preparing a compliant CFR, when submitting a case via SWIFT. Management and close monitoring of work in progress/business issued. Keeping day-to-day tasks up to date on task system and actioning as appropriate. Managing client files / records management. Keeping track of and arranging appointments for client advice and review meetings Personal Attributes Career Paraplanner or working towards becoming a financial advisor in the long-term Focused on continual professional development. Self-motivated without the need to work under direct supervision. Comfortable working both with a team and alone. Excellent communication skills and telephone manner Enjoys working on a 1:1 basis and with a small team building close relationships with clients. Ability to be able to deal with High Net Worth (HNW) individuals at ease and understand their needs. Excellent attention to detail and good level of suitable first time compliance rates. Methodical and thorough work style Well-presented and professional. Technical skills requirements Diploma in Financial Planning - Part or Fully Diploma qualified (DipPFS) Prior experience in a similar Junior Paraplanner / Paraplanner position. Highly computer literate, excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, and Outlook Preferred experience (although not essential) SWIFT, Curo, Voyant, FE Analytics Pensions and investment knowledge Additional Information Salary: £30-42K per annum (salary based on qualifications and experience), plus bonus based on KPI’s. Location: Holborn, London, (WC2B 6UJ) Hours of work: Full time - 37.5 hours per week, 8.00-4.30pm / 9.00am-5.30pm / 10.00am-6.30pm. Flexible hours with a start time of between 8.00am-10.00am depending on preference.
