Job reference number 94207 Intelligence Developer - London Salary starting from £37,739(London) with 10% bonus potential and 22.5 days annual leave Full time Permanent Battersea DO About the role You will be required to administer effective intelligence development in relation to risks to Royal Mail Group, particularly in relation to commercially motivated threats to the business, including organised crime and corruption. Carrying out intelligence unit development functions, ensuring that tasks deliver timely, cost-effective and reliable intelligence to support the capability to identify and quantify current and emerging risks to the business will be vital. Undertaking both overt and covert intelligence gathering tasks in a legal, safe and effective manner will be important, as will producing accurate, timely and reliable records and products from intelligence gathering activities. You will need to be able to work as part of a team, as you will be required to work in collaboration with other intelligence developers, analysts and researchers to fill identified intelligence gaps. You will be responsible for accessing, monitoring and researching from RMG and external sources to develop intelligence to help identify and quantify new and ongoing risks to RMG, and working professionally and collaboratively with domestic and foreign law enforcement agencies, intelligence functions within other relevant businesses, as well as specialist intelligence services, to enable the effective development of intelligence to address and prevent identified risks to RMG. You will be expected to fill identified intelligence gaps using innovative and varied methods of intelligence gathering, ensuring that all such activity is legal, authorised when necessary, and that risks are properly assessed, managed and recorded. You will also need to manage your own professional development to ensure ongoing capability to utilise the latest intelligence development methods, technology and tools to support specialist, complex or covert investigations. About you You will be a criminal justice professional with knowledge and extensive experience of using and deploying intelligence gathering techniques and a proven track record of using intelligence systems, products and processes under National Intelligence Model principles. We are seeking those who have experience in an intelligence development role, able to evidence extensive, successful, overt and covert intelligence gathering experience either within the security industry or elsewhere. You will be able to demonstrate a history of risk management and the application of best practice in practical intelligence gathering situations, and will have experience of producing RIPA and risk management records and knowledge of OSC requirements in that area. You will need detailed knowledge of relevant legislation including Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984; Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) 2000; Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996; Data Protection Acts; Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998; Human Rights Act 1998; Fraud Act 2006; Bribery Act 2010; Proceeds of Crime Act 2002; Postal Services Acts and Computer Misuse Act 1990. You will also need detailed knowledge of overt and covert intelligence gathering techniques and the associated equipment required for such deployments, as well as knowledge of the National Intelligence Model principles and tasking processes, and of the Criminal Justice Systems across the UK. You will need to have the ability to produce clear and concise reports to support analysis and present them effectively, have a working knowledge of UK Law enforcement investigation practices and systems and be computer literate in MS Office You will have a recognised qualification in surveillance or other specialist intelligence and evidence gathering field (or equivalence from extensive experience as an intelligence officer in a law enforcement or security environment). Surveillance equipment usage and covert intelligence gathering technique training is desirable.
